Omarie Abel

On Thursday, May 19, 2022 Omarie Abel, loving son, brother, father of two, and grandfather passed away unexpectedly.

Omarie was born on August 24th 1979 in Bronx, New York to mother Pauline Anderson and father Carlton Abel.  He was raised by his mother, growing up the oldest with 3 younger siblings, 1 sister Ebony Abel, and 2 brothers Naphtali and Kasiem Anderson. 

Omarie always had a big heart and wanted to look out for others.  He was loving referred to simply as “O” or “Big O” by his friends.  Omarie was always full of life and passionate.  Other than his family, helping other was one of his greatest joys.  He didn’t like to see other people down, which made him the life of any party or gathering because if he was around, he wanted to make sure you were smiling.  The only thing he would sit down for was fishing which was his favorite thing to do especially with his mother.  He was a big help to his mother.  Omarie worked many kinds of jobs and started 2 businesses throughout his life.  He was a master salesman and painter.

Omarie was preceded in death by his father, Carlton, and his sister Ebony.  He is survived by his grandmother Mary, his mother Pauline, his brothers John, Naphtali, and Kasiem, his children Amari and Violet, grandchildren Amiya and Ava, three nieces, a nephew, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Time for final respects will be held on Saturday June 4th, 2022, at the George Lopes Funeral Home (647 Main St, Brockton, MA 02301).  A private service for family will be held from 3pm to 3:30pm and which time it will become open to the public and continue until 5pm.  You may bring a white balloon to be released at the end of the service when the family releases doves.
