Olegario (Donu) was born in Fogo, Cabo Verde to the late Balbina Alves Miranda and Olimpio DePina. Olegario had 16 siblings, Inez Miranda Goncalves, Eufemia Goncalves, Ana Miranda, Otilio Depina (deceased), Maria Barbosa “Mana” (deceased), Alina Fonseca, Josefa Depina, John Depina, Teresa Gomes, Andoleto Fidelo Depina, Augusto Depina, Maria Antonia Monteiro, Antoino Pedro Depina, Lurdes Fildago, and Silvia Depina. Olegario married Paula “Julia” F Depina in 1958, he was widowed on December 25, 2020, after 62 years of marriage. Olegario had 7 children Maria Depina, Jose Olimpio Depina, Alfred Miranda, Antoine “Tony” Depina, David Olegario Depina, Daniel Depina and Balbina Depina.  The family emigrated to Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1979 and moved to Dorchester Massachusetts 3 years later in 1982. Olegario was a Leather Craftsman at Cole Hersee and he helped coach a soccer team in Boston. He enjoyed watching a Benfica game and loved watching family feud and Jerry Spring of all things.

Olegario leaves behind his loving children Maria Depina (Joaquim), Jose Olimpio DePina (Margarida), Alfred Miranda (Ana) Antoine Depina (Maraju) David Miranda, and Daniel DePina and Balbina Depina. 19 grandchildren: Dilce Lawson, Elizabeth Meca, AJ Miranda, Christine Miranda, Joseph Xavier Depina, Jacqueline Miranda Richardson, Daniela Depina,  Ernesto Xavier Depina (Deceased), Danny Xavier Depina, Joshua Miranda, Sandy Rebelo Miranda, David Miranda Jr,  Darius Antonio Miranda, Dayla Depina, Raphael Miranda, Savanna Rebelo Miranda, Samuel Depina, Sidney M Depina, Danielle M Depina  13 great-grandchildren: Jaiha Lawson (deceased), Angela Miranda, Jaimir Lawson, Joel Jayden Medina, Josiah Lawson, Lanaiya Rose Richardson, Jordan Lawson, Lennox Ernesto Depina, Elani J Miranda, Gabriela E Miranda, Elias J Miranda,  Alivia M Meca, and Cassius A Meca and host of 100’s of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
