Millicent Lowe Obituary

Ms. Millicent Lowe of Brockton, MA passed peacefully on April 13, 2021.

THE OBITUARY

Millicent Lowe, was born on December 30th, 1927. born to the Late Elize Duckworth and the Late Edgar Lowe. She was born in a small district in Clarendon, Jamaica called Gravel Hill, and grew up with her Aunt Frances along with close cousins Desmond and Roy, both whom predeceased her.

Millicent worked at several jobs in Jamaica before moving to the Bahamas and later migrated to the United States of America, where she resided in Boston, Massachusetts.

In the family Millicent’s mother, Uncle and Aunt were very close always looking out for each other's children. Millicent likewise was always willing to take in or assist relatives and sometimes friends-but make sure you don’t have a falling out with her; because she is Done! Done! Done with you!

Millicent's long life can be attributed to our Jamaican Food! As well as the many years she spent attending the exercise classes at the church of the Holy Spirit in Mattapan and by the way anyone visiting with her would be dragged along too.

We celebrate Millicent today, not for the way she died, but for how she lived her life. A true Christian woman, who loved God, family and friends.

Millicent was a Stewart who believed in Family values, sharing her goodies from visiting families from Jamaica, bringing food; she would stretch the goodies far and wide among us; you know roast breadfruit! Ackee, and fried fish. She was caring and compassionate about the family, she could easily trace the relationships on the Family Tree. She was a treasure of immeasurable value.

Nine years ago, she was very ill and we all thought then she was Heaven bound but fortitude, determination and the benefit of the exercise classes pulled her through.

After her illness she relocated to be with her daughter Marcia in Brockton, Massachusetts. She continued to fellowship with the Church via Zoom as a result of Covid 19, happily until her homegoing on April 13, 2021.

Millicent is survived by Brother Noel Lowe and Sister Barbara Quarry; Daughter Marcia Cluney and Son-in Law Micheal Cluney, Grandchildren-Anthony Gale, Fitzritson Gayle, Georgia Gayle, Melissa Thomas, Christopher Cluney & Roxanne, and Alyssa Cluney. Great Grandchildren-Onandi, Amanda, Yazaria, Zaniyah, Zahara, Shanaya & Dylon, and Great- Great Grandchild Kalesa. She was predeceased by a Son Fitzritson Gayle.

She also leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and church members.

We are each allotted three scores and ten years, by the grace of God many get overtime

Millicent had the benefit of twenty-three years; she lived through four generations.

The memories of her will never pass away. “The Rock”

RIP Cousin Millie
