Djeila Barbosa

Djeila Sophia Goncalves Barbosa, was born in Praia Cape Verde on September 11th, 2002, to her parents Evandra Goncalves and Manuel Barbosa. Djeila was a devoted college student that went to FSU. She was an exceptional dancer and a phenomenal artist. Djeila moved to the United States of America in September 2009. Djeila resided in the city of Brockton with her mother Evandra Goncalves and brother Djeimy Melo. Djeila graduated from Brockton High School class of 2020. She passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Djeila was a kind, caring, friendly, respectful, funny, beautiful, and most importantly loving person.  Djeila had the soul of an angel. She was a positive person with a big heart that was willing to drop everything to help out others. Djeila was a hard-working young lady that strived for greatness. The first thing you ever notice about Djeila was her smile. She had an infectious smile and a charming laugh. Djeila was loved by everyone and anyone she came across. 

Everyone she ever met can only say good things about her, whether it was from all the little kids she worked with or doing anything for her family and friends. If you knew  Djeila you knew how much she loved children. The bond Djeila had with kids you just knew she would be a great mother one day. She was her happiest when making people happy especially when it came to children. She worked at Little Flippers Swim School since 2021 teaching kids to overcome their fears of the water and teach them to love to swim. Djeila loved to dance and on her free time she enjoyed creating art.  She was always striving to learn new things, the more challenging the better. Djeila was great at everything she did and blessed everyone she came in front of.

She was survived by her mother Evandra Goncalves, Father Manuel Barbosa, 2 brothers, a sister, 2 aunts, 4 uncles, and many cousins. 

Visitation for Djeila Barbosa will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, with a starting time of 4:00PM - 7:00PM located at George Lopes Funeral Home 647 Main St. Brockton, MA 02301.

The funeral mass will begin at 10:00AM on Monday, October 2, 2023. Following the funeral services interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery 163 N Cary St. Brockton, MA 02302.
