Wendyann Williams Obituary

Wendy Ann Williams, affectionately called Wendy, was born on January 8th, 1984 in the lush green hills of Top Road District in Mavis Bank St. Andrew Jamaica to parents Barbara (Bev) Crosdale Williams and Sydney (Neville) Williams. Her entry into this world was a Joy to the family and many friends. As a child Wendy was always active and energetic but always found time to do her school work.

She was successful at her Common Entrance Examination in 1996 at the Mount Fletcher All Age School. Her favorite subject was English Language. She then went to Dunn Robin High School in Kingston for five years; where she was successful in several Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) Subjects.Wendy was a hard worker, always pursuing opportunities to uplift herself and her children. She was employed at the National Water Commission (NWC) from 2005 until her sudden resignation in 2018, due to her illness. She loved this job because of the many benefits opportunities and of course the salary. She enjoyed cooking, reading, entertaining family and friends. She was a busy young lady, but she found the time to keep up current affairs and the news both locally and internationally. Asked her a question about current affairs and she had an answer for you.

Wendy was a very humorous person. Whenever she came around she would brighten your darkest days with her jokes. She loved her family and she would have done anything for them. Wendy would make her point of duty to check on each of sibling as often as possible to make sure they are doing okay-she was the conduit in the family.Wendy was the strength and backbone of her children’s lives. As a single Mother taking care of her two sons Jay-kwon and Jaedon and beautiful Priya was not easy but she did it. Her strength and tenacity drove her each day to succeed in life; building her house and buying a car gave added comfort to her and her children. She was instrumental in paving the way for Jay-kwon success in passing his GSAT Exam for a prominent high school in Jamaica. Her wish for her children was for them to be successful, productive member of society.

In June of 2018 she received devastating news that she had breast cancer. She was determined to fight this illness and made the decision to get treatment in the USA. In July she started that treatment. Throughout the vigorous process she demonstrated mental toughness. When everyone else around her broke down and cried, Wendy was still cheerful and strong. No one ever saw her cried.  She was strong right to until the end.Wendy went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 4th, 2019 after a short battle with her illness. In the end God has gave her peace and rest. As John said “Beloved, we are God’s children now and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, for we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.”(l John 3v2)

Wendy leaves to cherish her love and memories, her parents Barbara (Bev) and Sydney (Neville), sons Jay-kwon, Jaedon, a precious little girl name Priya, and Damoya (niece). sister Alethea (Sandy), brothers Denton, Sydney (Craig), Wensley (Rufi) and Wendel (Rick), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and her special friends. Her memories will live on in our hearts forever.
