Antero Rocha Goncalves

Goncalves, Antero Rocha originally from São Salvador do Mundo, Cabo Verde, passed peacefully on September 17, 2019 at home in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was the dear son to Remigio Rocha Goncalves and Maria Semedo Goncalves. 

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Maria de Fatima da Lomba Go, she passed in October 2018.

Leaving his nine children Maria de Brito (husband Sebastian Tavares), Madga Goncalves (husband Moses Besong), Maria Joana Barros (husband Avelino Barros), Maria Madalena Rodrigues (husband Aderito Rodrigues), Eurico Goncalves (wife Yolanda Goncalves), Tito Goncalves (wife Miryan Vieira), Alzira Henry (husband Marvin Henry), Joao Jose Goncalves (wife Janine Rosa), Edna Goncalves (husband Nicolas Saintmard). 

Blessed to have 21 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memories. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 4-8 PM at St. Peter Parish, 311 Bowdoin Street, Dorchester, MA 02121. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 10 AM also from the church. 

Mr. Goncalves will be laid to eternal rest with his wife Maria at New Calvary Cemetery, Harvard Street, Mattapan, MA 02126.

After burial please join the family for fellowship and refreshments at St. Patrick's Function Hall, Lower Church, 400 Dudley Street, Roxbury, MA 02119.
